In a remarkable achievement, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad proudly announces the addition of three distinguished faculty members—Ananya Banik, Jadab Majhi, and Sunil Pulletikurti—who have all been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Early Career Research Grant.

Dhanbad: In a significant achievement for IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, three newly inducted faculty members from the department of chemistry and chemical biology have been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Early Career Research Grant (PM ECRG).The recipients, Ananya Banik, Jadab Majhi and Sunil Pulletikurti, have been recognised for their promising contributions to advanced scientific research at an early stage of their academic careers.The PM ECRG, a highly competitive national-level grant, is designed to support young researchers in undertaking innovative and impactful research across diverse scientific disciplines.Banik’s work focuses on solid-state chemistry, particularly in the field of energy conversion and storage materials, including solid-state batteries and ionic conductors.Majhi is engaged in synthetic organic chemistry, with research interests in photoredox catalysis and biocatalysis.Pulletikurti is working on phospholipids, drug delivery systems and studies related to the chemical origins of life.Commenting on the achievement, Sumanta Kumar Padhi, head of the department, said that the recognition highlights the strong research capabilities of the newly joined faculty members.
