Prayagraj: Indian Institute of Information and Technology-Allahabad (IIIT-A) has scaled a new peak in campus placements, with a BTech student securing the institute’s highest package in five years at Rs 1.58 crore annually and more than 96% of registered undergraduate students being placed during the 2025-26 placement season.A total of 480 undergraduate and 145 postgraduate students registered for placements, with all of them participating in the recruitment process. Of these, 462 UG and 102 PG students were selected. The UG placement rate stood at 96.25%, while around 70% of PG students secured placements.According to sources, the recruitment drive saw 117 companies participating for undergraduate students and 53 companies for postgraduate students. The average annual package for UG students stood at Rs 33.8 lakh, while the median package was Rs 29 lakh. The highest UG package of Rs 1.58 crore marked the institute’s best placement offer since 2021-22.For PG students, the average package was Rs 20.41 lakh and the median stood at Rs 18.5 lakh, while the highest offer reached Rs 47 lakh.The latest figures also point to a steady rise in the institute’s top placement package over the past few years. In 2024-25, the highest UG package was Rs 1.45 crore, with an average of Rs 33 lakh and a median of Rs 28 lakh. In 2023-24, the highest package stood at Rs 1.21 crore, while the average and median were Rs 26 lakh and Rs 18.5 lakh, respectively.The highest package was Rs 82.5 lakh in 2022-23 and Rs 1.25 crore in 2021-22. The jump to Rs 1.58 crore in 2025-26 thus marks a significant improvement in the institute’s placement performance.
