Srinagar, Sept 16: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar-IPS, on Wednesday chaired a security review meeting at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to assess the prevailing security situation and review the preparedness of police formations across the Central Kashmir Range.
The meeting was attended by DIG Central Kashmir Range (CKR) Srinagar, Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal, SSP PCR Kashmir, staff officers and other senior police officials, besides all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs).
During the meeting, officers briefed the IGP about the security situation in their respective areas and apprised him of the security arrangements and operational mechanisms in place to maintain peace, public order and public safety.
IGP Sujit Kumar reviewed the overall security grid and preparedness across the Central Kashmir Range, with particular emphasis on the deployment and operational readiness of police personnel.
He directed officers to further strengthen counter-insurgency operations, intensify area domination exercises and increase naka checking at vulnerable locations. He also called for enhanced checking and surveillance along inter-district borders to prevent any potential security threat.
The IGP stressed that security arrangements must remain dynamic and responsive to emerging situations. He directed field officers to regularly assess security requirements and strengthen deployments wherever necessary.
He further called upon officers to maintain heightened vigilance and ensure that all preventive measures are put in place to safeguard peace and public safety.
The meeting concluded with directions for round-the-clock vigilance, stronger preventive security measures and close coordination among field formations to maintain a peaceful and secure environment across the Central Kashmir Range.
