Madhubani: The district administration has directed all govt employees to wear valid and updated identity cards during office hours and official duties, including field visits and inspections. The order, issued by the district magistrate, requires all heads of offices and controlling officers to ensure that employees display their ID cards prominently so they can be easily identified by the public and others.Employees have also been directed to carry their authorised identity cards and produce them when required during field visits, inspections, meetings, camps, public hearings and other official duties. The DM has instructed office heads and controlling officers to inform their subordinate staff about the directive and ensure that all employees have valid identity cards. Offices have also been asked to initiate the process of issuing, renewing or replacing cards wherever necessary. The order further requires office heads and controlling officers to regularly monitor the validity and proper display of identity cards. If an employee is found performing official duties without an ID card, the office head concerned will have to examine the matter and take corrective action. The administration said the measure would make it easier for people to verify the identity of govt employees, particularly during field visits, inspections, camps and public hearings. It is also aimed at improving transparency, discipline and accountability in govt functioning and preventing impersonation by fake govt employees.
