Varanasi: On the occasion of Independence Day, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust organised various special programmes. The celebrations began early morning with Mangala Aarti of Baba Shri Kashi Vishwanath and the deity was adorned in tricolor decoration. The tricolour was represented with decorations of saffron, white and green flowers. During Mangala Aarti, special prayers were offered for the welfare, happiness, prosperity, and peace of the nation and all its citizens.The flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the administrative office, Neelkanth Bhawan, located near the Gangeshwar Mahadev idol. Following the flag hoisting, a brief discussion session was organised on the significance of Independence Day and the duties of citizens towards the nation. Officials and employees associated with the Temple Trust expressed their views during the session.The speakers paid homage and tributes to freedom fighters who sacrificed everything for the country’s independence. Everyone took a pledge to serve devotees with honesty, dedication, commitment and a spirit of service, while fulfilling their responsibilities in the national interest.
