Hyderabad: Coinciding with the completion of two years of its operations, HYDRAA on Saturday carried out one of its largest single-day land protection drives, securing nearly 840 acres of govt land across Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts. Officials estimated the market value of the land at over ₹30,000 crore.Conducted jointly with revenue officials under heavy police deployment, the operations covered multiple municipalities within the city limits. HYDRAA fenced 84 acres of govt land in Raidurg, where officials alleged that attempts had been made to encroach on public land by extending the boundaries of an adjoining private property. It also secured 106 acres in the Cantonment area, where officials claimed illegal layouts and hill blasting had caused environmental damage and disturbed wildlife. The largest operation took place at Bahadurguda in Shamshabad, where the agency fenced 650 acres of govt land. The drive turned tense as officials moved to remove alleged encroachments before completing the fencing exercise, with violence breaking out during the operation.
