TNNKanpur: Three city footballers have been selected for the UP state under-20 team for the national championship, which is scheduled to be held in Chhattisgarh from Friday. UP will play its first match against MP on May 3, followed by a match against Arunachal Pradesh. Kanpur Football Association secretary Ajeet Singh said that Vihan Khanna, Rohit Singh and Nikhil Singh from Kanpur will represent UP in the national championship.The team: Mohd Shazid, Shivam Yadav, Mohd Shahviz, Abu Hanzala, Farhan Khan, Mohd Wazid Ali, Mohd Nadeem, Gaurav Chauhan, Abhishek Kumar, Jane Alam, Shivam Patel, Prashant Singh, Sushant Gupta, Mohd Kaif Khan, Vishal Rawat; coach: Shamshi Raza, manager: MS BegInter-school cricket: Kanpur Sports & Culture Events will organise an inter-school cricket tournament from May 4. As many as 13 schools have confirmed their participation. The inaugural match will be held at VSSD College ground, while the final will be played on May 9.
