Gurgaon: A 52-year-old house help was killed after an SUV allegedly ran over her at a residential society in Sector 67 on Tuesday.Guddi, from Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh who lived with her family in Bhondsi, was struck by a Mahindra Thar inside the stilt parking area at 2pm. She died at a private hospital in Sector 68 two hours later.Guddi worked for a family residing in Ansal Versalia, the society where the incident occurred. She was resting at the spot when a resident returned home from school. As she was attempting to park her vehicle, the SUV hit Guddi. According to police, the vehicle was being driven by a private school teacher.Since no case has been registered, police have not disclosed the identity of the woman who was driving the Thar. Police said the driver didn’t notice Guddi sleeping between the pillars of a parking bay and continued parking the vehicle, running over her and causing fatal injuries. Her ribs were crushed in the impact, they said.A senior police officer said the driver immediately realised what happened, panicked and raised an alarm. She then reversed the vehicle and called nearby residents for assistance. As neighbours gathered at the scene, the woman brought another car, placed Guddi inside it and drove her to the hospital.During the initial investigation, officers found that the SUV ran over Guddi’s chest. Doctors told police that she suffered multiple fractures and severe internal injuries, which proved fatal. Police spokesperson Sandeep Turan said Guddi succumbed to her injuries during treatment at around 4pm. After doctors informed the police, teams reached both the accident site and the hospital.The autopsy is yet to be conducted. Sources added that although police have contacted the victim’s family several times to record their complaint, the family has been hesitant to lodge one. Police have seized the SUV and are examining CCTV footage from the society to determine the exact sequence of events.Following the accident, several house helpers, employed in the society, along with their family members gathered at the spot. Police remained deployed there to ensure the situation remained under control. An investigator said police were yet to receive a formal complaint.
