GURGAON: A 35-year-old woman died on Sunday, days after being hit by a speeding motorcycle near Sohna Road. The victim, Deepa, who worked as a domestic help, succumbed to her injuries during treatment.The incident took place on March 26 when Deepa was on her way to work at a residential society in Sector 67. According to a complaint filed by her husband, Pramod Singh, a resident of Naya Gaon, he had dropped her near a temple and was present at the spot when the accident occurred.As Deepa was crossing the road towards Pyramid Society, a motorcycle being driven at high speed hit her. The impact threw her onto the road, leaving her critically injured. The rider fled the spot after abandoning the vehicle.Pramod arranged a private vehicle and rushed Deepa to Park Hospital in Sector 47. Police reached the hospital after receiving information and collected her medico-legal case (MLC). A case was registered under section 281 (rash driving) of BNS at Badshahpur police station.Deepa succumbed to her injuries on Sunday. After her death, police added section 106 (death by negligence) of BNS to the case. “Efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused,” an officer said.In a separate incident, a 58-year-old man died on Sunday, days after being hit by a car in Farrukhnagar.The deceased, Hari Kishan, a farmer from Sadrana village, was injured on March 27 around 4pm near Suraj Dhaba in Sultanpur. Police said he was riding a motorcycle when a white Brezza car rammed into him.He was taken to a private hospital with critical injuries and later succumbed during treatment. Police said the vehicle has been identified and efforts are underway to trace the driver.A case has been registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death by negligence) of BNS at Farrukhnagar police station.
