Gurgaon: A 44-year-old auto driver died after a car rammed into his three-wheeler from behind near Jharsa Chowk on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway early on Sunday morning.The incident occurred at 5am when Naval Mahto, a resident of Trilokpuri in Delhi, was ferrying passengers from Anand Vihar towards Gurgaon.A car whose driver and registration details have yet to be identified hit the auto from behind. The impact caused the three-wheeler to overturn, leaving Mahto and several passengers injured. One of the passengers, Suresh, rushed him to a govt hospital in Sector 10, where doctors declared him dead.Mahto’s uncle, Alakhdev Mahto, later approached the police and sought action against the unidentified driver. Police inspected the accident site, where the damaged auto was found along the service lane, and shifted the body for autopsy.In a separate incident, a 37-year-old man was also killed in a hit-and-run on the service road near Cloud Nine Hospital in Sector 57 at 12pm. Police said a team rushed to the spot after receiving information and took the injured to a hospital, where he succumbed during treatment. Singh had been living in rented accommodation in Udyog Vihar.Cases have been registered at Sector 40 and Sector 56 police stations under sections 106 (death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further investigation is underway.
