Bhilwara: Chittorgarh police Monday arrested history-sheeter Shoaib Lala from Nimbahera area for allegedly brandishing a sword while cutting a cake in a viral Instagram reel.Chittorgarh SP Dharmendra Singh said the reel, uploaded on July 11 from the Instagram account shoaiblala7777nimbahera, showed Lala waving an unsheathed sword and cutting a cake outside Kapasan Dargah while bystanders cheered him on.Following a joint operation by Kapasan, Kotwali Nimbahera and Sadar police, along with the District Special Team (DST), Lala was identified, detained and later arrested. Police alleged he uploaded the reel to spread panic, intimidate the public and glorify his criminal image.Lala is listed as a history-sheeter at Kotwali Nimbahera police station and has 14 criminal cases registered against him in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. It includes charges of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, assault, obstructing public servants, and offences under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act.
