Palghar: A helicopter landed on a school playground in Saphale (Palghar district) on Tuesday afternoon after a technical glitch was noticed by one of the pilots. No one was injured, and the helicopter flew back to Mumbai after the snag was resolved. The helicopter was used for training purposes by a private firm, and police sources confirmed that a senior pilot was training a junior.There were four crew members aboard the helicopter, which started its journey from Juhu, Mumbai, on its way to Surat in Gujarat. There were two pilots, one engineer, and one staff member. The crew noticed a technical snag when they were flying over Saphale and Kelwe. They decided to land at a safe place instead of travelling ahead.According to police, the crew had no option but to land on the playground of Vidyabhavan School. “We immediately sent a team to the spot the moment we came across this news,” said assistant police inspector (API) Datta Shelke of the Saphale police station. “Later, we came to know that this was an emergency landing,” he added.He also added that the pilot decided to land after observing the technical error. There was also an engineer on board who took care of the technical snag, after which they all left for Mumbai around 1:30 pm. .
