Mangaluru: In the wake of the ‘Puttur Chalo’ awareness rally being organised by right-wing organisations Monday, Dakshina Kannada Police have made elaborate security arrangements to prevent untoward incidents.An altercation at a digital service centre in Darbe, Puttur, over a document damaged due to a technical error during lamination recently led to the registration of cases at Puttur Town police station. Following the incident, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal and Hindu Jagaran Vedike announced the Puttur Chalo rally.Dakshina Kannada SP Arun K said conditional permission has been granted for the Puttur Chalo programme. Ahead of the programme, police conducted a route march on Sunday within the jurisdiction of Puttur Town police station.Seven platoons of District Armed Reserve Police, five platoons of Karnataka State Reserve Police, two teams of the Special Action Force (SAF), 139 police personnel, 14 ASIs, 10 PSIs, three PIs, a DySP and an Additional SP will be part of the security bandobast deployed for the programme, the SP said.
