Vadodara: Heavy rain lashed the city on Monday night, disrupting normal life and causing flooding in several localities. Areas such as Sayajigunj, Dandia Bazaar, Raopura, Alkapuri and Sama Road witnessed inundated roads, leading to traffic congestion and distressed commuters.The intense rain also led to several trees being uprooted and falling across the city. In Shinor taluka, one person suffered grievous injuries after a tree fell on him during a downpour. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Civic authorities and emergency teams were deployed to clear fallen trees and restore traffic on affected roads.Power outages were reported from several areas as strong winds and rain damaged power lines. Municipal officials were on alert and monitored low-lying areas that are vulnerable to flooding.
