Times News NetworkChandigarh: With no sign of the heat wave relenting, the Tricity continued to swelter in the heat. At 41 degrees Celsius, maximum temperature was five degrees above normal, the same as Friday. At 23.2 degrees Celsius, minimum temperature was also two degrees above normal.Weather across Haryana and Punjab remained dry, exacerbating the heatwave. However, there is relief in sight. The meteorological department has forecast change in weather between April 28 and April 30, with partly cloudy skies accompanied by thunderstorm and light rain across the Tricity.Maximum temperature is likely to remain steady at 41 degrees Celsius for the next two days, for which a yellow alert has been sounded. Thereafter, it may gradually fall to around 38 or 40 degrees Celsius due to the anticipated rainfall.Seasonal rainfall (from March 1 till date) stands at 73.4mm, 146% above normal.The IMD has advised residents to take precautions against heat exposure over the next few days, as hot weather conditions are expected to persist before a spell of rain brings some respite.
