Bathinda: Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions prevailed over isolated places in Haryana and Punjab. Severe warm night conditions were also reported over Haryana. The maximum temperatures were reported in the range of 40-45°C. In Himachal, maximum day temperatures were markedly above normal by 5.1°C at many places. As per India Meteorological Department, no significant change in maximum temperatures is likely over Northwest till April 27, and thereafter a gradual fall by 2-4°C during April 28-May 1. The highest maximum temperature was recorded at 45.2°C at Faridkot in Punjab, and 44.6°C at Rohtak in Haryana. As compared to Friday, Punjab recorded a rise of 0.3°C in average maximum temperature up to 5.30 pm on Saturday. Similarly, Haryana recorded a rise of 0.3°C in average maximum temperature.
