Ludhiana: Deputy commissioner Himanshu Jain Tuesday conducted a comprehensive review of the final preparations for the inauguration of Halwara airport on July 27.He said the terminal building is fully operational and that the airport has been officially assigned its code.The meeting involved key officials from PWD, public health, PSPCL, Airports Authority of India, NHAI, drainage departments, and representatives from contractual firms.The DC assessed the progress of ongoing minor works, including CCTV installation and cleanliness, which are slated for completion within a day. He emphasised that the district administration is working in close coordination with AAI and other agencies to ensure all preparations are finalised promptly. Expressing optimism, Jain highlighted that Halwara International Airport is set to become an economic driver, fostering industrial growth, boosting exports, generating employment in the region. tnn
