Ludhiana: BJP in Punjab advanced its efforts towards service, good governance, and welfare of the poor by conducting impartial elections for mandal heads across the state under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, said Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon, vice-president of the party’s state core committee.Addressing a press meet here, Dhillon said, “The aim of the elections was to select leaders who would boost BJP’s presence at the grassroots level by creating awareness about the Centre’s welfare schemes and policies.”He announced that 20 mandal heads were elected in Ludhiana . He said he noted an increasing trust in BJP among Punjab’s populace, who view the party as a viable alternative to AAP in 2027 assembly elections. Dhillon said people’s confidence in AAP and Congress has waned, leading them to recognise that BJP is essential for Punjab’s progress. He attributed the ongoing schemes in Punjab to the foresight of PM Modi and emphasised that the BJP not only presents slogans but also implements them at the grassroots level.The newly elected mandal heads include Gurvinder Singh Bhamra from New Janata Nagar Mandal, advocate Kuldeep from Pratap Nagar, Rakesh Parashar from Dugri, Himanshu Kalra from Subhani Building, Deepak Johar from Kidwai Nagar, Amit Mittal from Madhopuri, Rajeev Sharma from Janakpuri, Vinod Rana from Jamalpur, Pramod Kumar from Tibba Road, Ankur Verma from Focal Point, Amit Rai from Subhash Nagar, Keshav Gupta from Guru Nanak Pura, Amit Sharma from Salem Tabri, Ashok Rana from Shivpuri, Chirag Arora from Ghantaghar, Rajeev Verma from Shimlapuri, Suresh Agarwal from Giaspura, Balwinder Syal from Daba, Ritesh Jaiswal from Sherpur, and Ashish Gupta from Agra Nagar. tnn
