Haley Solar is looking for a hands-on Retail Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across three boutique locations. This role is for someone who can lead a team, solve problems before they become emergencies, keep stores running smoothly, and also bring energy and creativity to the customer experience.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee daily retail operations across three locations and make sure each store is staffed, organized, open, and ready for business.
- Manage store leads and sales associates, set clear expectations, follow up, and hold the team accountable.
- Own scheduling, coverage planning, call-out response, and proactive problem-solving so operational issues do not automatically fall to the owner.
- Hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop staff while helping create a positive, professional, high-accountability culture.
- Maintain strong store standards including customer service, cleanliness, organization, opening/closing procedures, and weekend readiness.
- Support inventory flow, transfers, receiving, stock organization, replenishment, and communication between locations.
- Identify operational problems early, create practical solutions, and know when something truly needs to be escalated.
- Partner with the owner on sales goals, store performance, staffing needs, launches, and priorities.
Creative + Community
- Plan and execute in-store events, parties, workshops, trunk shows, launches, and other customer-facing experiences.
- Develop local partnerships and community outreach that bring new customers into the stores.
- Help create promotions and special retail moments around new products, seasons, weekends, and store events.
- Collaborate on merchandising, product launches, clienteling, and ways to make each location feel active and engaging.
You’re a Great Fit If You
- Have retail management or multi-location operations experience.
- Are calm, dependable, organized, resourceful, and comfortable making decisions independently.
- Naturally anticipate staffing and operational needs instead of waiting for someone else to solve them.
- Can communicate clearly and directly while still being supportive and respectful.
- Enjoy both the practical side of retail operations and the creative/community side of running independent stores.
- Are comfortable working across Los Angeles and Ventura locations and being present in stores when needed.
- Want real ownership of your role and are excited to help a growing independent retail business get stronger.
Compensation
$24–$28/hour, full-time, depending on experience.
About the Role
This is not a desk-only management job. We need someone who notices what needs to happen, communicates with the team, follows through, and can keep the stores moving without the owner having to be the default backup for every issue. The right person will have meaningful autonomy and the opportunity to shape how the retail operation grows.
