Gaya: The businessmen of Gurua bazaar kept their shops closed on Thursday in protest against a robbery incident late on Wednesday evening in which five unidentified armed criminals looted cash and ornaments from bullion trader Prabhakar Barnwal. The trader sustained a gunshot injury to his right thigh and is undergoing treatment at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital.The traders demanded that the police administration ensure the recovery of the looted items, including Rs 5 lakh in cash and gold and silver ornaments worth around Rs 40 lakh, and arrest those involved in the crime.On Thursday, Magadh range inspector general of police Vikas Vaibhav and Gaya senior superintendent of police Sushil Kumar visited Gurua and inspected the spot where the robbery took place. Following the inspection, the two senior police officers held a meeting with traders at Gurua police station.After the meeting, Vikas said, “A special investigation team was constituted to probe the robbery with bullion trader Wednesday evening. The team was carrying out raids and investigating the case from multiple angles.”Vikas and Sushil assured the traders that police patrolling in the area would be intensified and all possible measures would be taken to ensure the safety and security of the business community.
