India Power Corporation, formerly DPSC Ltd, which is undergoing corporate insolvency resolution proceedings, has disclosed that it received a notice from the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) seeking information and documents in connection with an investigation into the affairs of Gupta Power Infrastructure.
The notice follows an order dated October 28, 2025 issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs under Section 212(1)(c) of the Companies Act, 2013, directing the SFIO to investigate the affairs of Gupta Power Infrastructure.
The SFIO has called for information under Section 217(1) of the Companies Act, 2013. The company said it is cooperating with the investigation and will furnish the relevant information and documents sought by the agency.
“The Company is extending its cooperation with SFIO during investigation by furnishing the relevant information and documents as required by them,” India Power said in the filing.
India Power’s disclosure states that the notice relates to an investigation into Gupta Power Infrastructure and does not identify any violation or contravention by India Power.
In the regulatory disclosure, the company has specifically stated “None” against the details of violations or contraventions committed or alleged to have been committed. It also said it is reviewing the contents of the notice and will take the necessary procedural steps, including submitting a timely response to SFIO.
India Power further stated that, based on its current assessment, there is no impact on its financial, operational or other activities arising from the notice.
“We are currently reviewing the contents of the Notice and will take all procedural steps, including providing a timely response to SIFO. There is no impact on the financial, operational or other activities of the Company,” the company noted.
The disclosure comes while India Power is undergoing the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) pursuant to an order dated May 15, 2026 of the NCLT Hyderabad Bench-I.
The company said that, following commencement of CIRP, the powers of its board of directors stand suspended under Section 17 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, and are being exercised by Resolution Professional Medarametla Sreenivasa Manoranjani.
At that time, India Power had received an SFIO communication concerning an investigation into SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd and others, with information sought under Section 217(1).
