Gumla: Pinki Kumari, 6, a Class 1 student of Upgraded +2 High School, Turiamba, drowned in the Turiamba Masiya river under Bharno police station limits on Saturday morning. Rajesh Mahto of Bada Turiamba had dropped his two daughters at school. During school hours, three girls reportedly left for the nearby river. Villagers later recovered Pinki’s body in uniform. She was taken to CHC Bharno, where doctors declared her dead. Headmaster Balbir Tigga said Pinki had said she was going to the toilet.
