Rajkot: The city crime branch has invoked the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime (GujCTOC) Act against seven members of the Ibla gang operating in the B Division police station area. Four accused have been arrested, while two others are in judicial custody, police said.Deputy commissioner of police (crime) Jagdish Bangarwa said the gang, led by Ibrahim alias Ibla Kathrotiya, has been active in Rajkot for several years and was allegedly involved in organised criminal activities.According to police, the gang is linked to 89 offences registered between 2016 and 2025, including 27 serious crimes such as attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery, Arms Act violations and obstruction of public servants.Police identified the arrested accused as Salim alias Saliyo Kathrotiya, Mehbub alias Memlo Kathrotiya, Ashraf Kathrotiya and Lakhan Kamejadia. Ibrahim alias Ibla Kathrotiya and his associate Javed alias Javlo Kathrotiya, who are in jail, will be taken into custody and produced before a court to seek remand.Police said the gang is linked to four cases of attempted murder, five of robbery and kidnapping, 11 of unlawful assembly and 29 assault cases. In addition, five offences fall under the Atrocities Act, while 34 cases pertain to liquor, gambling and Arms Act violations. The gang is also linked to one case each of molestation and obstruction of police duty.
