Gandhinagar: Ahead of International Yoga Day, which will be observed on June 21, the state govt said that Gujarat has achieved the milestone of having the highest number of yoga teachers and yoga classes among all states.State yoga board chairman Sheeshpal Rajput said on Friday that at present, over 4,985 free yoga classes are being run across the state, with around 4-5 lakh people practising yoga every day. He added that over the past six years, more than 1.5 lakh certified yoga instructors have been trained by the board and 750 yoga coaches have been permanently appointed.Over the past six years, the board has trained more than 1.5 lakh certified yoga instructors. Moreover, 750 yoga coaches have been permanently appointed to ensure that citizens receive quality guidance. An official statement said that as part of the health awareness drive, more than 8.04 lakh citizens participated in 763 yoga camps organised in the state this year.
