Ahmedabad: The city received 2mm of rainfall on Thursday, according to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) data. In all, 76 talukas received 1mm or more rainfall on Thursday, mostly after 6pm.The pre-monsoon showers continued in several parts of Gujarat on Friday, with 51 talukas receiving 1mm or more. The city did not receive any rain on Friday but experienced partly cloudy weather.According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the northern limits of the southwest monsoon remained at Harnai and Solapur in Maharashtra — on the seventh straight day. Conditions are considered favourable for the weather system‘s progress northwards.The state is experiencing an upper-air cyclonic circulation over southwest Madhya Pradesh, along with a trough associated with itDespite the rainfall on Thursday night, the maximum temperature on Friday again touched 40.2 degrees celsius, 2 degrees above normal. At 26.8 degrees, the minimum temperature was 0.6 degrees below normal.On Saturday, the maximum temperature is likely to be around 40 degrees.
