Ahmedabad: The State exam Board will conduct the assistant education inspector aptitude test (AEIAT) on Sunday to fill Class-III assistant education inspector posts through direct recruitment. Nearly 26,000 candidates from across Gujarat registered for the exam.According to official information, the notification for AEIAT was issued on Jan 13, following a directive from the state education department. The preliminary exam will be held on March 1 from 12 noon to 2pm in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara and Surat. A total of 137 exam centres were set up, with arrangements across 1,302 blocks. As many as 25,991 candidates are expected to appear.

The preliminary test will carry 200 marks and consist of 200 multiple-choice questions (OMR-based) to be completed in 120 minutes. Section 1 will include 50 questions for 50 marks, while Section 2 will have 150 questions for 150 marks. Each correct answer will carry one mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect response. The question paper will be in Gujarati.Officials clarified that the preliminary test is only a screening exam, and marks obtained will not be considered in the final merit list. Candidates scoring above the cut-off will qualify for the main exam, which will be descriptive and objective in nature.
