Two teams have been formed to facilitate recruitment from Chennai, Kerala, Hyderabad and Bengaluru

Ranchi: State govt has begun work to strengthen the healthcare system by recruiting around 1,700 doctors, health minister Irfan Ansari said after a meeting with department officials on Friday.The recruitment process for 506 doctors, including 306 super-specialists and 200 medical officers, is being expedited to address the shortage. Ansari said the govt was also working to bring 1,200 doctors from southern India to Jharkhand.Two teams have been formed to facilitate recruitment from Chennai, Kerala, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. One will be led by special secretary Dr Neha Arora, with joint secretary Lalit Shukla as a member, while the second will be headed by state NHM director Shashi Prakash Jha.The minister said govt hospitals would be equipped with modern diagnostic facilities, including CT scans, MRI, digital X-rays and pathology laboratories. He stressed that equipment alone was insufficient, calling for regular maintenance, trained technicians, timely tests and prompt reports so patients would not have to depend on private facilities.
