Jhunjhunu: Urban development and housing (UDH) minister Jhabar Singh Kharra Sunday said the state govt is committed to hold municipal elections in Dec under One State, One Election policy.Kharra said Dungarpur consistently ranked fourth in the country in the category of population ranging from 20,000 to 50,000. Additionally, more than 20 urban bodies in the state, including Jaipur Heritage, Jaipur Greater, Udaipur, Kota, Jodhpur, and Sikar, improved their rankings compared to the previous year. These accomplishments led to the award from the President, he said.Regarding the ongoing opposition to the master plan, Kharra clarified that the master plan for Sikar city was developed during the tenure of govt in Rajasthan from 2018 to 2023. They only restored the original status of certain routes that were altered. On the day the master plan draft was released, he clearly stated that any objections to the master plan could be submitted till July 24, 2025. Each objection would be physically verified, and valid concerns would be addressed.
