Jaipur: The state govt Wednesday approved annual proposals worth Rs 196.39 crore for the holistic development of tribal areas for the financial year 2026-27.The approval was given at a review meeting of the executive committee chaired by chief secretary V Srinivas at the Secretariat.During the meeting, Srinivas reviewed the implementation of schemes of the Tribal Area Development (TAD) department, field inspections, and compliance with Central govt guidelines.He directed officials to prepare a high-quality documentary showcasing the success of innovative projects including drone logistics, the Satellite Tribal Health Resource Centre, sex-sorted semen technology for animal husbandry, and STEM Labs, to promote Rajasthan’s best practices at the national level.He instructed officials to align future proposals with the guidelines of Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs and incorporate recommendations under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and the Pradhan Mantri Janman Programme on a priority basis.Emphasising effective monitoring, Srinivas asked officers to conduct surprise inspections of Eklavya Model Residential Schools, Ashram hostels, Maa Badi centres, and under-construction infrastructure projects instead of relying solely on reports. He also directed that development proposals should prioritise remote tribal habitations, particularly areas inhabited by Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), to ensure benefits reach the most deprived communities.The approved proposals include completion of residential schools, Ashram hostels, sports hostels, and road and culvert works in Jaswantpura (Jalore) and Bali (Pali) under committed liabilities. Under the general grant head, the committee approved 28 community crèches for PVTG communities, market-oriented skill development training for 1,820 tribal youth, an integrated agriculture model for 500 tribal families, and STEM Labs in 26 residential schools.Under the capital grant head, the govt approved construction of permanent buildings for 395 Maa Badi centres, a tribal guest house and haat bazaar at Kotra in Udaipur district, besides road, causeway and culvert works at 333 locations across tribal regions.
