Ahmedabad: GIFT City has climbed nine places to 37th globally in the 40th edition of the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 40).It ranked 46th in the previous edition.GIFT City also ranks among the top 15 financial centres in the Asia-Pacific region. In the GFCI fintech ranking, GIFT City moved up three places to 26th globally from 29th in the previous edition.GFCI 40 also lists GIFT City among 15 centres expected to become more significant over the next two to three years.The GFCI report evaluates 115 financial centres on their fintech ecosystem, highlighting key elements like regulatory environment, skilled talent, access to finance, ICT infrastructure, and innovation support.The report identifies digital infrastructure, fintech and digital asset businesses, anti-money laundering frameworks and deeper capital markets as key priorities for financial centres over the next five years.The GFCI rankings are calculated using 144 instrumental factors and 39,531 survey assessments gathered from 6,147 international respondents.
