Gorakhpur: The Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) has allotted land for 24 new industrial units, paving the way for fresh investments and employment generation in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The upcoming units will manufacture a range of products, including ready-made garments and plastic items, further strengthening the industrial ecosystem in the region.According to GIDA officials, industrial plots ranging from 510 sqm to 4,800sqm have been allotted across multiple sectors. The allocations, include two plots of 510sqm in Sector 26, three plots of 1,950sqm and seven plots of 2,100sqm in Sector 13, along with larger plots of 3,250 sq m, 3,771 sqm, 4,234 sqm and 4,448 sqm in different sectors.In Sector 28 (General), plots measuring 2,964 sqm and 4,800 sqm have been allotted, while the Plastic Park in Sector 28 received allocations of 2,116sqm, 2,153sqm and 3,242sqm.GIDA chief executive officer Anuj Malik said the authority continues to attract entrepreneurs due to its robust road infrastructure,investor-friendly policies and ease of doing business. He said the land allotment process for all 24 units has been completed in line with industrial demand and includes plots suitable for small, medium and large enterprises.Officials said the new industrial units are expected to generate significant direct and indirect employment opportunities, particularly in garment and plastic manufacturing sectors, while providing a boost to the economy of Gorakhpur and neighbouring districts.
