Jaipur: Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Sunday launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led state govt over the stalled Pratap Nagar Coaching Hub project, questioning why institutes have not yet been relocated to the multi-crore facility. In his social media series ‘Intezarshastra’, Gehlot alleged the country’s first organised coaching hub is facing severe neglect under the current administration and claimed the govt’s indecision—driven by alleged “external pressure”—is leaving modern infrastructure underutilised and denying students a better, stress-free academic environment.Gehlot noted that a union of coaching institutes had already submitted a written request to relocate. However, he claimed the govt instead handed the facility over to IIT Jodhpur to deflect criticism, despite the engineering institute already possessing an adequate campus. The hub, inaugurated in 2023, was developed over 65,000 square metres in Pratap Nagar to decongest parts of the city and was designed to offer students a safe, centralised location equipped with a library, cyber lab, gym, food court, and ample parking. Questioning the govt’s infrastructure priorities, Gehlot said instead of building a ₹185 crore elevated road in the Gopalpura–Triveni Nagar, the govt should relocate coaching centres to the hub as originally planned.
