Gauri Juneja, who served as Head of Corporate Communications at Google in Gurugram, announced that she is leaving the company after eight years.Sharing the update on LinkedIn, she wrote, “After an incredible 8 year run at Google, it’s time to hand in my badge.”She also explained how she has always looked at organisations during different phases of a career.“I’ve always thought of organisations as ships we board – and as ships go, Google has taken me the farthest, giving me experiences I could never have had elsewhere,” she wrote.

Looking back at eight years at Google

Reflecting on her time at the company, Juneja said she got the opportunity to work across several major products and initiatives. She mentioned being part of the early days of Google Pay and UPI in India. Her work also covered YouTube, tech policy, advertising, monetisation and, more recently, artificial intelligence.Summing up her experience, she wrote, “For someone who’s spent an entire career in the tech sector, Google was the HIIT Pro Max experience.”

The lessons she says will stay with her

Juneja also shared the biggest professional lessons she is taking forward from her time at Google. She said the company taught her rigour, changed her understanding of working at scale and reinforced the importance of values while making decisions.“It has taught me rigour, completely reframed my idea of scale and shown me how values are still a good way to shape decisions. It’s also shown me just how right things can go when you get the team right,” she added.Thanking the people she worked with, she ended her post by writing, “Eternal gratitude to my team, colleagues and leaders – you made these years an education in the best way. Wherever I am, there’s a part of me that will always belong to you.”
