Prayagraj: Ganga and Yamuna rivers once again recorded a rising trend on Wednesday, keeping the district administration and residents of low-lying areas on alert.Although both rivers remain well below the danger mark, the rise in Yamuna at Naini and Ganga at Phaphamau and Chhatnag over the past four hours has raised concerns among people living in flood-prone localities.Officials said at 4 pm, Yamuna’s water level at Naini stood at 81.57 metres, up 4 cm from the previous reading taken four hours earlier.Ganga also registered a rise, with water levels reaching 81.77 metres at Phaphamau and 81.09 metres at Chhatnag, marking increases of 1 cm and 4 cm, respectively, over the same period.The danger level for both rivers is 84.734 metres.Officials said the situation is being closely monitored as intermittent rainfall and upstream discharge continue to influence river behaviour.
