Bokaro: Nine members of an alleged cybercriminal gang were arrested for duping people by posing as bank officials and travel agents, police said on Thursday. The accused were arrested in raids conducted in Sector-12 and Marafari police station limits. Of them, eight hail from different parts of Bihar, while one is from Bokaro.Bokaro SP Nathu Singh Meena said, “The accused used to contact people by pretending to be agents ofa travel bank employees and obtained their confidential details through deception. The investigation has revealed suspicious financial transactions in several bank accounts. Further action is being taken after placing those accounts on freeze.”The gang was traced through inputs received through the Pratibimb app. A team led by DSP (headquarters) conducted raids in Bari Cooperative and Ritudih during the intervening night of July 15 and 16, police said. A case has been registered at the Cyber Police Station.The recoveries include 10 phones, nine SIM cards, 18 bank passbooks, three cheque books, 10 debit cards, PAN cards, Aadhaar cards, including two Aadhaar cards linked with the same number, and Rs 43,100 in cash.Those accused were identified as Singh Samrat Kumar Vinay, 22, of Bokaro, while Niranjan Kumar, 31, Sudama Kumar, 24, Nitish Kumar, 28, Subodh Kumar, 30, Premchandra Kumar, 27, Dharmaraj Kumar, 19, Brajesh Kumar, 24, and Ravi Prabhakar, 41, are all from different places in Bihar.
