Times News NetworkChandigarh: A fruit vendor died after a speeding motorcycle carrying two youths allegedly rammed into the handcart he was pushing with his wife on a slip road in Raipur Khurd village, Chandigarh on the night of Sept 9.The impact caused the cart to overturn, leaving the vendor, Ran Singh, trapped underneath. He lost consciousness and was rushed to Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, where he died during treatment.Ran Singh’s wife Sharda said two youths on a motorcycle came at high speed from the direction of Hallomajra and hit the cart from the side. She claimed that they did not even sound a horn. Sharda said the two riders argued with her before driving away towards Zirakpur on their motorcycle.Police said a daily diary report (DDR) was initially recorded. Following Ran Singh’s death, further legal action was initiated on the basis of his wife’s statement.
