Prayagraj: As the curtains came down on the North Tech Symposium 2026 in Prayagraj on Wednesday, much of the spotlight remained on advanced warfare technologies and futuristic defence systems. Some of the most crucial innovations on display were life-saving protective gear designed to shield soldiers from enemy attacks and reduce casualties on the battlefield.Blast Suppression BlanketDesigned for emergency bomb response situations, the Blast Suppression Blanket specifically suppresses blast fragmentation from explosions that could otherwise cause severe injuries and structural damage. The equipment was developed by Kanpur-based GG Cooperation.Life-Saving Ballistic Protected TentThis portable tent minimises blast injuries during field operations. It is engineered to suppress fragmentation caused by hand grenades, pipe bombs and IED explosions. The fabric is both water- and fire-resistant, making it suitable for extreme operational conditions. The tent can provide immediate cover to soldiers and bomb disposal units during emergency operations.Modular Ballistic ShelterThe Modular Ballistic Shelter represents a new generation of rapid-deployment battlefield protection systems. Developed for high-risk border operations and surveillance posts, the shelter offers bulletproof and rocket-launcher-resistant protection. Technical head Karan Chawla and designer head Urvi Ohri explained that every modular block used in the structure weighs under 10 kg, making transportation and assembly possible even in remote terrains. The shelter uses a bulletproof slide-in panel mechanism and an adjustable ballistic dual-wall configuration for enhanced protection. Designed as an all-terrain system, it can be rapidly assembled without heavy engineering support. The structure is especially useful for protecting high-end surveillance devices such as Long-Range Reconnaissance and Observation Systems, or LORROS, and Battlefield Surveillance Radars, or BFSR, at border outposts. The shelter offers higher and more cost-effective protection compared with traditional tactical systems.Advanced Rescue Transportation SystemsThe Advanced Transportation Wheel Systems have been designed to improve mobility during rescue missions in extreme terrains. These systems enable rescue teams to move injured personnel efficiently across snow-covered areas, rocky landscapes and canyon-like conditions. The Akja rescue system, capable of carrying one or two persons, attracted considerable attention for its versatility in snow and mountainous terrains.Vacuum Mattresses and Rescue StretchersThese mattresses are lightweight, easy to roll and transport, and equipped with anti-skid surfaces to prevent slipping on snow. Features like stable head protection, adjustable lifting straps, anti-rotation rings and compatibility with helicopter rescue operations make them highly effective.Blast-resistant Medical ShelterThe blast-resistant underground medical infrastructure system has been designed for wartime emergencies and disaster zones. The facility is equipped with a blast-proof access shaft and fortified entry unit capable of functioning even in high-conflict combat conditions. The modular structure includes a triage area with capacity for 10 patients, a minor OT measuring 20×15 feet, a major OT of 20×20 feet, ICU and ventilator support systems, and expandable patient wards accommodating more than 40 beds. The facility has advanced ventilation with heat exchangers, emergency oxygen supply systems, fire-retardant interiors resistant to direct flames for up to two hours, and integrated life-support monitoring systems. Powered through a low-energy solar power system with lithium-ion battery backup, the shelter can operate efficiently with minimal electricity consumption.Equipmemt
