Gandhinagar: The state govt informed on Monday that a free mountaineering training camp for children and youth will be organised by the state youth services and cultural affairs department at Mount Abu from May 9 to 15. This annual initiative aims to foster a spirit of adventure and physical fitness among the younger generation by providing professional guidance in high-altitude environments.In addition, a more advanced and intensive rock climbing course will be organised from May 18 to June 1. Participants in these sessions will receive specialized instruction on safety protocols, equipment handling, and technical climbing maneuvers under the supervision of expert mountaineers.The last date for applying for these courses is March 31, and interested candidates must send their application with complete details to the Principal, Swami Vivekananda Mountaineering Training Institute, Gaumukh Road, Mount Abu. Applicants are encouraged to submit their forms early, as seats are limited and will be allotted based on specific eligibility criteria. This program remains a key highlight of the state’s commitment to youth development.
