Prayagraj: Ayushman Bharat and state govt employee cashless scheme beneficiaries will soon be able to avail free radiology and blood-related diagnostic tests at Cantonment General Hospital.The facility, expected to begin this month, will include X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound and a range of blood investigations.Ayushman scheme nodal officer Dr Rajesh Singh said the chief medical officer’s office has issued a notification to all govt hospitals including Motilal Nehru Divisional Hospital (Colvin), Tej Bahadur Sapru Hospital (Beli), District Women’s Hospital (Dufferin) and community health centres regarding the new facility.Cantonment General Hospital is already onboard on Ayushman Sampark Hospital Appointment System. It is the first govt hospital in Uttar Pradesh to provide OPD appointments through the PM-JAY call centre, officials said, adding that the hospital will now extend medical services to Ayushman beneficiaries as well.“These services will include tertiary-care specialities like cardiology, neurology, nephrology, medical oncology and other specialised treatment facilities,” said the hospital director Siddharth Pandey.The facility is expected to benefit Ayushman beneficiaries from Prayagraj as well as the adjoining districts including Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Chitrakoot, Mirzapur, Bhadohi and Jaunpur, said Pandey.“The development will help expand access to specialised and diagnostic healthcare for beneficiaries in Prayagraj and neighbouring districts, while making better use of the hospital’s existing tertiary-care infrastructure,” said Pandey.
