T’puram: Three police officers were injured at Maranalloor near Neyyattinkara on Thursday when a fraud case accused allegedly tried to run them over while resisting arrest.Neyyattinkara police team had reached Ambedkar Colony in plain clothes after receiving information that Sanoj (27) of Balaramapuram, an accused in the Nataraja Finance gold loan fraud case, was hiding there. Police said that when the officers asked him to get out of his jeep, he refused and accelerated towards them in an attempt to escape.The vehicle hit the motorcycles on which the policemen had arrived, injuring SI Akshay Kumar and CPOs Antony Miranda and Nithin. The team chased the jeep and intercepted it a short distance away.Sanoj was arrested and taken to hospital after he complained of health issues. He remains under police guard and will be produced in court after medical formalities.Police said Sanoj was traced following the interrogation of Sreejith, the alleged kingpin arrested earlier. The racket is suspected of cheating victims of about Rs 4 crore overall.
