Kolkata: A man who was driving a four-wheeler, Abraham Junaid, was arrested after allegedly hiting a constable while attempting to flee after an accident on Maa Flyover on Saturday evening. The injured constable, who sustained a fractured arm, has been hospitalised.According to police, the accused was driving from Chingrihata towards Science City when he lost control and hit the flyover guard rail. When on-duty personnel tried to stop him, he sped onto the flyover. Intercepted later, he briefly halted but allegedly pushed a constable and attempted to escape, knocking him down in the process. He was eventually arrested near Park Circus crossing.
