Sasaram: The trend of creating social media reels for popularity landed four youth in serious trouble in Rohtas district after they were found impersonating police personnel. Dehri Muffasil police arrested four youth, including two video creators, for shooting videos in police uniform and misleading the public on Saturday.According to police officials, they received information that some people dressed in police uniform were stopping commuters on the road near Pehleja and recording videos. The suspects were reportedly using a Scorpio vehicle, creating the impression that they were police personnel on duty. Acting promptly on the information, a police team rushed to the spot and detained all the four accused.

The arrested youth have been identified as Shatrughan Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Shambhu Kumar, and Prince Kumar. At the time of arrest, two of the accused were wearing police uniforms, while others were involved in recording the videos.Dehri ASP Atulesh Jha said during their search, the police recovered several fake weapons, including a wooden rifle and a plastic pistol. Though the weapons were found to be fake, the police uniforms and Bihar Police insignia used by the accused were genuine, making the offence more serious.Police investigations revealed that the accused were regularly making reels in police uniform and posting them on social media platforms. Several such videos have already gone viral, misleading viewers and creating confusion among the public.
