Shimla: A vehicle carrying the body of a man for his last rites plunged into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district in the early hours of Wednesday, killing four people and injuring nine others.Family of Jagdish Sharma of Arlu village hired a Bolero Camper to take the body back to their native village after Sharma died of a heart attack at a hospital in Sangrah on Tuesday. A few villagers were too on the vehicle.The accident occurred at Gattalog in Sangrah area around 1am. The driver lost control over the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and fall nearly 50 metres, police said.Police identified the deceased as Rajendra (37) and Des Raj (23), both from Arlu village, and Rikhi Ram (58) and Ram Gopal (62) of Chinad village.Kapil Dev (39), the driver, Kamalender (48), Sandeep (21) and Ram Swaroop (44) sustained serious injuries and were referred to Dr Y S Parmar Medical College and Hospital in Nahan. Five others were admitted to a hospital in Sangrah.Police registered a case.
