Surat: Two more drowning deaths were reported in the city, underscored the hidden dangers of swollen waterways and waterlogged areas. An unidentified man and an elderly woman lost their lives in separate incidents linked to the rain.After the flooding of rivulets across the city on Thursday, an unidentified man, believed to be around 35 years old, drowned in a creek. His body was recovered near Bamroli Bridge in the Althan area and handed over to police for further investigation and identification.An 80-year-old woman with poor eyesight died after drowning in a rainwater-filled ditch near her home in Palanpur village. According to family members, she had left her house sometime during Thursday night after others had fallen asleep. When she could not be found on Friday morning, relatives launched a search. Her body was later discovered in a ditch filled with rainwater close to the house.
