Mangaluru: With the start of the summer schedule of airlines on March 29, flight connectivity to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), including Mumbai (BOM) and Navi Mumbai (NMI), has gone up to six.On Monday and Thursday, the flights to MMR will be five, including two to NMI and three to BOM. IndiGo will operate all flights to NMI, while the same airline will operate two daily flights to BOM, and Air India Express will operate the third daily flight to BOM.On Sunday, flight operations between NMI and IXE recorded steady passenger movement, with arrivals including 6E 866 carrying 94 passengers, 6E 841 with 51 passengers, and 6E 2030 with 108 passengers. Departures from IXE to NMI saw 6E 832 carrying 128 passengers, 6E 865 with 121 passengers, and 6E 2031 recording the highest, with 165 passengers.Meanwhile, sources said that there is no clarity on when international operations will fully resume from Mangaluru, with both IndiGo and Air India Express indicating they may not do so till the end of April due to the prevailing situation in and around Iran. Air India Express will sporadically operate to Jeddah and Sharjah in the interim, it is learnt.
