Ara: Police busted an inter-district bike-theft gang in Bhojpur district on Monday and arrested five bike-lifters and recovered 11 stolen motorcycles from different districts. Ara Town police station, Sadar SDPO-1 Raj Kumar Shah said the action followed joint raids by Ara Town, Babura, Chandi and Barhara police stations along with the District Intelligence Unit. Rahul Kumar Tiwari was first arrested from Dharhara, leading to the capture of four others, said Shah. Police said the gang used stolen bikes for liquor smuggling and activities near sand ghats. Shah claimed that bike theft cases have dropped from 200 last year to 103 so far.
