Kanpur: MLA Ghatampur Saroj Kureel on Friday said that the safety of children commuting to and from schools was the top priority.Speaking as special guest in the district school vehiclesecurity committee’s meeting held her at Naveen Auditorium MLAdirected the transport Department to conduct a thorough inspection of thefitness, permits, and other necessary standards of school vehiclesoperating across all schools in the district, ensuring that the children’scommute is completely safe.District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh directed the Transport andEducation Departments to conduct special awareness campaigns outsideschools. Through these campaigns, school vehicle drivers and operatorsshould be informed about all safety standards prescribed by the department.
