Kriti Sanon is grabbing eyeballs for her toned physique in the recently released trailer of her upcoming film, Cocktail 2. The actor even filmed her first bikini scene in the movie, for which she trained rigorously with her coach.

Kriti Sanon’s brief for Cocktail 2 was to be super lean, super toned, and have abs that actually show on camera.

On June 4, Karan Sawhney, Kriti’s fitness trainer, posted a video documenting how hard the actor worked to achieve the results seen in the trailer. Sharing the video, he wrote, “When @kritisanon and I first had a chat, we didn’t just have a fitness goal, we had a director’s vision to bring to life.”

He added that Kriti Sanon had to step into the role of Ally in Cocktail 2, which ‘pushed her harder than anything before’. Moreover, her first-ever bikini scene was not just a physical challenge; it was also a mental and emotional one. It demanded that she show up every single day, even when she didn’t feel like it.

Fit and lean, not size zero

According to Karan, for Cocktail 2, Kriti’s brief from the makers was clear and uncompromising, unlike anything she had done before: she had to be fit and lean, not size zero.

Here’s what Homi Adajania, the director, told them: “Super lean. Super toned. Abs that actually show on camera. Strength that reads through the screen. But this was the real challenge: don’t lose the glow. Don’t hollow out the face. The director needed Ally to look fit and luminous. Too lean and you lose that. Too soft and you miss the mark. That’s the fine line we walked. Every. Single. Week.”

How did Kriti Sanon train?

Karan revealed that Kriti trained at the gym six times a week. Here’s what the journey looked like behind the scenes:

  • Heavy strength training to build shape and definition
  • Incline walks for slow, sustainable fat burn without muscle loss
  • Zone 2 cardio to keep the metabolism working without burning her out
  • Nutrition dialled in to protect the face while leaning the body
  • Regular director briefings factored into every phase of the plan

He further shared, “The kind of training we did – with her nutrition, with her sleep, with her food – we included a lot of incline walks. She was eating a high-protein diet. We were in a sort of deficit, but with a lot of strength training and basically staying active throughout the day. I mean, it was a challenge, but as you can see, she pulled it off.”

Praising Kriti’s dedication, he added, “This wasn’t just about looking good for a scene. This was about honouring the character, the director’s vision, and most importantly, herself. Ally is real because Kriti Sanon made her real. So proud of you. This is just the beginning.”
