Kanpur: The Food Safety and Drug Administration Department sealed afirm in Panki’s Ispat Nagar, after a video showing expired toffees being dumped in a public place went viral on social media.An examination of the packaging found at the scene led to identification of the firm, following which a team of food safety officials visited the establishment.Assistant commissioner (Food Safety) Sanjay Pratap Singh stated that the matter was investigated after taking cognisance of a video on social media. It has been reported that the firm operator is currently out of town.The FSDA as sealed the establishment. The operator has been instructed to contact the department upon their return to have the premises inspected. Business operations may resume only after the inspection, said Singhl. Legal action will be taken if the seal is tampered with, he said.
