Koraput: Police in Rayagada district on Sunday arrested an additional fire officer on charges of sexually assaulting a married woman. Inspector Prasanna Kumar Behera said the accused was arrested following a written complaint lodged by the woman, a mother of two. “The accused underwent a medical examination before being produced in court,” he added.Preliminary investigation revealed the accused had allegedly maintained a physical relationship with the complainant for nearly two years and also subjected her to physical and mental harassment during the period. “Further investigation is underway,” Behera said.
